What is Opaline Outpost?


Opaline Outpost is an independent creative project combining speculative fiction, art, research, and a curated Knowledge Hub.


What are the main parts of Opaline Outpost?


Opaline Outpost includes:

  • The Book: the fictional story.

  • The Hub: a directory of real-world resources.

  • The Beacon: updates and curated recommendations.

  • The Community: a future space for people and organizations to connect.

Is Opaline Outpost mainly about artificial intelligence?

No. Artificial intelligence is one of several subjects explored by the project.Other subjects include memory, robotics, identity, ethics, creativity, geology, storytelling, and the future.


The Knowledge Hub


What is the Knowledge Hub?

The Knowledge Hub is a curated directory of publications, organizations, podcasts, articles, research, tools, events, and opportunities. It helps people discover useful resources across different subjects and disciplines.

Is the Knowledge Hub free?

Yes. The public Knowledge Hub is free to browse. Opaline Outpost may later add optional premium features, such as advanced research, filtering, saved collections, or professional tools. Core public access is intended to remain free.

How are resources selected?

Resources are selected because they are relevant, useful, credible, or offer an interesting perspective .The Hub is curated and is not intended to include everything available online.

Does inclusion mean endorsement?

No. A listing means the resource is relevant to the Hub. It does not mean Opaline Outpost agrees with or endorses everything published by that source.

Does Opaline Outpost own the listed resources?

No. External resources belong to their original creators, publishers, or organizations. Opaline Outpost provides descriptions, categories, and links to the original source.


Submissions and Support

Can I suggest a resource or organization?

Yes. Relevant resources, publications, organizations, projects, and opportunities may be submitted for consideration. Submission does not guarantee inclusion.

Can I request a correction?

Yes. You may report incorrect, incomplete, or outdated information through the website’s contact or correction form.


Does Opaline Outpost accept sponsors?

Opaline Outpost may accept sponsors, grants, partnerships, advertising, or other aligned support. Sponsored content or paid placements will be clearly identified. Sponsorship does not guarantee editorial inclusion or endorsement.

Can organizations pay to be listed?

Standard editorial listings cannot be purchased. Opaline Outpost may offer clearly labeled sponsorships or promoted placements separately from independently selected listings.


The Book and Community

Do I need to read the book to use the Hub?

No. The Hub can be used independently. The book helps inspire the themes, but the project is book-led rather than book-gated.

Is the Community open?
